Review: The Comforter Bubble Bar from Lush

One thing you will soon learn about me is that I am obsessed with Lush. I am always drawn into there every time I pass a shop and smell the fumes from inside, and I very rarely leave empty handed. I especially love anything that I can drop into a bath by them, and I currently have a large collection of ballistics, bubble bars and bath melts.

I first became introduced to the Bubble Bars when I went in one day in spring 2013 and bought their 9 to 5 cleanser and Big Shampoo. When I paid, and to this day I don't exactly know what the offer was (I assume it was free when you spent a certain amount), I received a freebie in the form of The Comforter. I could not wait to try it out, but at the time I was living in student accommodation with only showers, which meant I had to wait until next time I went home, but it was worth the wait.
From lush.co.uk

I had it on my desk for about 2 weeks and the smell from it was amazing. I kept picking it up and just sniffing it throughout the evenings! It has a very fruity smell, from the fact it contains the shrub from which you get blackcurrants. The smell did not fade at all in the first two weeks, and my room constantly smelt of it which was great.

Fast track to two weeks later when I finally went home and got to test out this bubble bar. As I had not used one before, a quick internet search taught me that the best way to use this was to run your bath, and as the water is running, crumble a bit of the bar into the water. The bar itself is pretty big, around the size of my hand, which is great value at £4.50 a bar as I personally got about 7 baths, at least, out of it.

Once it has been crumbled into the water, the bath starts to turn a pinky-purpely colour, which I loved, and it didn't stain the bath at all. The first time I tried this, I used a bit too much of the bar and I had a lot more bubbles than I expected, and as someone who prefers a very bubbly bath, this was saying something! The next time I used a little bit less and managed to make a perfect bath. The smell stays throughout the whole bath, which is usually about an hour and half when I am in there, so it definitely lasts.

I have since bought other bubble bars, but none can beat the Comforter, which is part of Lush's regular range so I constantly am buying more of it!
